raised to 30 rising to £360

after a further period of three years.

In that event your first three years

service will count as service for the

purposes of leave and pension but you

will lose your right to a passage

back to England. The print Eastern

leave and pension which apply to offi-

cers on the permanent establishment.

You will note that from the dęte at

which your appointment is made permanent

you will be required to contribute 4%

of your salary to the Widows and Orphans

Pension Fund of the Colony.

3. It is also to be understood

that your services will be available

for any duties upon which the Governor,

in the interest of the public service,

may think it desirable to employ you,

and that it will be within his discretion
